ET sat down with funnyman Jon Cryer, and his young co-star Trevor Gagnon to get the scoop on their new family comedy 'Shorts.'
"I play Dad Thompson, I don't even have a first name I'm just a dad," Cryer explains about his role in the film. "My son's going through a lot. Unfortunately, in the movie I'm a little too into my new techno gadget that I've got, and I'm not really paying attention to him."
Thirteen-year-old Gagnon interviewed the "Two and a Half Men" star about his experience working on the film, and Cryer explains why he enjoys working with children.
"Usually you're doing grown up movies where everyone's all serious all the time, this was not that," he says. "You guys actually made it fun. It was really cool, and Robert Rodriguez made it really fun too.
In the new family film, 11-year-old Toe Thompson (Jimmy Bennett), is hit in the head by a mysterious rainbow colored rock that falls from the sky. The young boy soon learns that he has found a magical wish-granting rock.
The 44-year-old actor tells his young co-star what he would wish for if he had his own wish-granting rock.
"People have been asking me this question all day," he says. "I've got nothing, because my son's doing great, and my wife's doing great. That's all I got, that's all I need."
Cryer also opens up about his experience working with co-star Leslie Mann, and explains various scenes where the two had to appear stuck together -- watch the video for more behind the scenes details!
'Shorts' hits theaters August 21.
