In season seven of "The Biggest Loser," Daniel Wright was the heaviest-ever contest with a starting weight of 454 pounds. Today, the 20-year-old from Willow Spring, NC, weighs 224 pounds -- an incredible 230 pound loss -- thanks to being given a second chance on the current season of the hit weight-loss series. That said, he still has heartbreak.

When Daniel first signed on for "The Biggest Loser," he was partnered with his friend David Lee. Since David left the ranch, he hasn't been motivated to use the tools he learned, so, as we saw on Daniel's "Where Are They Now" interview last week, David hasn't changed his lifestyle.

"It is heartbreaking," Daniel says. "Now I know how my family felt when they were talking to me before I started my journey. I now see what everyone else was trying to get me to realize. The heartbreaking thing to me is I can never say anything to make him change. It is going to have to be him."

When Daniel returned to "The Biggest Loser" for the "Second Chances" season, everyone came as an individual and then picked a partner from the other contestants. Daniel, who knew what it was like to be the biggest, chose Shay Sorrells, who outweighed him. Her starting weight was 476 pounds. This week there was a double elimination and both Daniel and Shay were sent home. But he says it was easier the second time around.

"Coming home the second time, it was really getting into the issues and not just believing I had fixed the problem and it was going to be perfect forever," he says. "It is a lifestyle and it is a life we have to live. Being willing to explore what caused me to get to where I had gotten and the issues that were going to keep me from getting to where I wanted to get is really what I had to work on this second season and this second time at home."

Daniel shares two things that have helped him on his weight-loss journey: He no longer goes to buffets because "there isn't a healthy choice there," and he has stopped munching in the morning while he cooks his breakfast because "that just racks up calories."

Now that "The Biggest Loser" has changed his life, he wants to pay it forward.

"My main motivation for starting season seven was I wanted to be a pastor, or in the ministry in some capacity," he says. "Having two seasons on 'The Biggest Loser' was such an opportunity and such a gift that I am looking at changing my college major to exercise and nutrition science and doing it faith-based."

"The Biggest Loser" airs tonight at 8 p.m. on NBC.
