'The Biggest Loser''s Sherry Johnston Reports on the Newest Ranch Romance

Sherry Johnston was the last mother standing when she got voted off of "The Biggest Loser" on Tuesday night's show. And as the last mom, she took some of the other contestants under her wing, including Stephanie Anderson, whose own mother was voted out on week two.

Since her mom left, Stephanie has begun a romance with Sam Poueu, and Sherry, who had grown close to Stephanie and Patti when they shared a suite of rooms at the ranch, has given her some advice.

"When Stephanie's mom Patti went home in week two, I started seeing the sparks then. As pink mom, I took her aside and said, 'You know, Steph, I just want you to take this slow. I don't want you to get into a relationship and lose focus of why you are really here. This is about you. As your fill-in mom, I want to make sure you keep your head on straight and do well on "The Biggest Loser."' She really appreciated that. We had several talks about it. Sam is really a sweet guy. He has really stepped up. When you see them together, you will see it."

Sherry has also had a couple of talks with her daughter Ashley -- the most important one -- in which Ashley revealed that she felt responsible for her mother -- on the episode on which Sherry was voted off. It was when Sherry's husband and Ashley's father died that the two women had grabbed on to each other and, what worked in a time of crisis had become habit -- one they needed to change.

"I really, as a mom, felt I was taking more care of her, but she felt responsible in ways, probably emotionally, to be there," Sherry says. "As a mom, I was really delighted that she came to the realization that she doesn't have to take care of me. I am really doing great and I would never do anything to hold her back. I want her to fly. That was the place where she realized it. I knew it was in her all along. She just didn't realize it."

When the black team lost the weigh-in, despite having won a five-pound advantage in an earlier challenge, Sherry says she knew her number was up, especially after mom Cheryl George had been sent packing the previous week.

"The young people did their own thing together," Sherry tells ET. "[Cheryl and I] did, too. We worked out as a unit, but a lot of [the] time, when we did extra stuff, Cheryl and I would do that. I knew they were tight. We weren't necessarily as strong in the challenges, but my point was, I may not be as strong in the challenges, but I could pretty much put my numbers up every week. I think they really went with what was in the challenge. [They felt] if they could win the challenge that would be a great thing for the team as a whole."

Sherry, who dropped from a starting weight of 218 pounds to her current weight of 135 pounds, is back to work full-time, but she gets up at 4:30 a.m. to get in a boot-camp workout before getting to her job at 8:30 a.m. and she does a second workout in the evening.

Without a Trader Joe's or a Whole Foods in her hometown, the 51-year-old non-profit administrator from Knoxville, TN, says she has still managed to maintain the clean eating habits she developed on the ranch by reading labels.

"Tara Costa told me: 'Don't put anything in your mouth that you don't know what is in it.' That is something that is really true. I never did that before. I think as Americans we really don't do a lot of that. Label reading is really important," she tells ET. Then she adds, "There are moments when you have an urge, when you have to have something. If I feel like I have to have something, I have one bite. I am satisfied and I put it away. I have worked too hard to get where I am so far. To me that whole candy bar is more than I want to spend that day [calorie-wise]."

"The Biggest Loser" airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on NBC.
