Dick Clark Breaks Down in Tears as Daytime Emmy Awards Honors TV Stars & Legends![]() Copyright 2010 Kevin Winter / Getty Images It was an emotional evening as the 37th Annual Daytime Entertainment Emmy Awards recognized those in television, honoring Dick Clark for his work on "American Bandstand," and Marie Osmond making one of her first TV appearances since the tragic death of her son. Ryan Seacrest headed up Clark's tribute as friends and those who got their start on "American Bandstand" performed and shared their stories about the TV legend. Dressed in a stunning floor-length gown, Osmond took to the Daytime Emmy stage solo, singing "Paper Roses" in honor of Clark. Following the tribute, Clark broke down in tears, crying in his seat. It was a fond farewell to the long running soap opera "As the World Turns" at the Daytime Emmy Awards. In addition to the tribute, "As the World Turns" star Julie Pinson won the first award of the evening for Best Supporting Actress. Michael Park won for his role on the show as Jack Snyder. "I can't think of a better way to end a 13-year run ... thank you," Park said when accepting his Emmy. The Lead Actress award also went to "As the World Turns" actress Maura West, who brought up her daughter to accept the award with her. The award for Best Supporting Actor went to Billy Miller for his role as Billy Abbott on "The Young and the Restless." Drew Tyler Bell won the Younger Actor Award for his part on "The Bold and the Beautiful," while Julie Berman won for Younger Actress for her role as Lulu Spencer on "General Hospital." "General Hospital" also received an award for their Directing Team. In addition, soap great Susan Lucci presented the Lifetime Achievement Award to writer Agnes Nixon. As for reality TV shows, "Cash Cab Discovery" won for Outstanding Game Show, while "The Doctors" won the Talk Show Informative Award. Going up against "Live with Regis and Kelly" and "Rachael Ray," "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" won for Outstanding Talk Show. Rounding out the show, "The Bold and the Beautiful" won the big award of the night for Outstanding Daytime Drama Series. Posted June 27, 2010 11:00:00 PM
