Patty Hewes fans can breathe a sigh of relief. The New York attorney will return to the tube now that DirecTV has announced that it has picked up the critically acclaimed "Damages" for an additional two seasons.
The first three seasons of "Damages," starring Glenn Close as tough-as-nails attorney Patty Hewes and Rose Byrne as her protégé Ellen Parsons, had aired on FX, but the cable channel had not renewed the series past that. Seasons four and five will now air exclusively on DirecTV and consist of 10 episodes each.
Close tells ET exclusively of the renewal, "It's very exciting to still be teamed with KZK [Productions] and Rose while going into new territory with DirecTV. 'Damages' is a great ride and Patty is a character who continues to fascinate me. I'm proud of the show and grateful for Sony's undying support."
