"Glee" creator and exec producer Ryan Murphy reveals secrets from the second season of the FOX phenomenon -- and ET has them!

Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch) is meaner than ever, Brittany (Heather Morris) and Santana (Naya Rivera) will be kiss, we will not see Rachel's (Lea Michele) two dads yet -- Lea is hoping one of them will be Elton John -- Terri (Jessalyn Gilsig), Will's ex-wife, returns, having decided she doesn't want to be divorced, and Kurt (Chris Colfer) will get a boyfriend, but the role hasn't been cast yet.

"I like that Sue is promiscuous on the show. I think no man can tame her," Ryan jokes. Then he adds, "We are committed to making [Santana] the world's meanest cheerleader ever. Dianna Agron, the Quinn character, is back to being a cheerleader this year. The two are duking it out to see who will be the queen bee of the school."

Instead of going bigger and over stuffing season two, Ryan says he has decided to go counter intuitive and scale back for the second season to give the supporting characters, such as Santana, Brittany and Mike Chang (Harry Shum Jr.) their own storylines this season because he feels that fans of the show want to know about them.

"Last year, because we were with 'Idol' in the second half of the season, I personally kind of blew it out. Like the Madonna episode had nine numbers, which was insane," he says. So we're scaling back a little bit and concentrating a little more on the stories, and now, I think, we're going to do five or six songs."

The first episode back will be called "Auditions," and it's about the idea that for everybody -- even if you are not in a high school glee club -- your daily life is an audition for something.

The third episode of the season, which Ryan calls the most "controversial" one, will be about faith and has the kids talking about what God means to them.

Of course, it is no secret that "Glee" is going to do a Britney Spears tribute episode, but it is going to be done in an unusual way.

"My favorite thing about the Britney Spears thing is Matt Morrison [Will] was asked on the red carpet if we were doing it, and he said, 'Oh, I hope not.' So the entire episode is him saying 'No, we're not doing Britney Spears,'" Ryan says.

The only other tribute episode this season will be the one that follows the Super Bowl, but Ryan won't reveal the musical artist. He does say that it is not Paul McCartney, even as he reveals that Paul did send him a mix tape.

As for guest stars this season, look for Susan Boyle around the holidays.

"Susan is coming out with a Christmas album and she is on the same label as us, so I want to give her some sort of fantastic makeover and have her sing a song from her album," says Ryan, who adds that she will not be playing herself but a character.

John Stamos is coming on for a couple of episodes to play Will's rival. Kristin Chenoweth will be back in the role she created in season one, and also joining "Glee" for one episode is Javier Bardem, who Ryan directed in the soon-to-be released film 'Eat Pray Love.'

"He requested it," says Ryan, who adds that Julia Roberts will not be making an appearance. "He bought the first 13 episodes on DVD and became obsessed with it. He said it was like crack. He is such a ham that it totally makes sense that he would want to sing and dance. He is going to play some demented rock star/substitute teacher. We haven't figured that out."

But there won't be a plethora of big name stars, because as Ryan says, "I don't want it to become 'The Love Boat.' I don't want to do too many people."

There is also going to be an original music episode and 'The Rocky Horror Picture Show' episode, which has not been cast yet, but will air the third week in October.

"My favorite thing to do is torture the boys," Ryan jokes. "Like claim I don't know who is wearing the gold lame briefs. Now they are all on diets. They are all in terror that I will tell them they are the one who will get naked."

"Glee" will premiere its second season on Tuesday, Sept. 21 at 8 p.m. on FOX.
