Whoopi Goldberg had to leave her latest project after her mother suffered a stroke.
According to her rep, "The View" co-host has left London, where was set to star in a stage production of Sister Act.
Producers tell ET that the actress rushed back to the United States after her mother Emma had a stroke, saying, "the thoughts and sincere best wishes of the producers and the entire Sister Act company are with her at this difficult time."
Sister Act -- based on the movie starring Goldberg as a lounge singer who hides from the mob disguised as a nun -- is scheduled to open on Broadway next year.
